AR195 Swim Deck Extension Project

After seeing picks of the LS 210 platform and support in this thread https://jetboaters.net/threads/lx210-swim-platform.4448/

I decided I could make this for my LX2000.

I used 3” 3/8” thick aluminum angle for the outside cantilevers and 2.5” 3/8” thick aluminum for the center brace.

One 4x8’ 1/2” starboard HDPE.

The first layer is attached to the supports with large washers and those are hidden below the second sheet. I wanted the ladder to have full thickness so those are the only fasteners on the top.

The fiberglass was 1/2” thick in all the areas I measured. So I used some backing to act as a spring and also to distribute the load.

M@_ thanks for the inspiration. I just built this custom swim deck extension for my ‘21 AR195. It gives the boat an additional 18 inches of usable deck space. I’ve tested it a couple times now and it’s exceeded my expectations. No impact on steering, no dragging or spray. The extra space has been great for family days on the lake. Can provide build details if anyone is interested.

yes, it’s now centered under the extended platform. Still functions perfectly

Its covered in marine flooring, but I just ordered a full mocha SeaDek kit through the group buy. I’ll eventually update the platform to match…

Removing the ladder was surprisingly easy. Yes there are nuts on the inside but I didn’t need to access them. The ladder just unbolted from the outside. I’m guessing the sealant on the inside kept the nuts in place. I was able to fasten the angle brackets for the swim deck extension using the same bolts and holes for the ladder.

Thanks! It did flex a very small amount before I added the side “walls” (not sure what to call them). Once those were added though it’s been rock solid. I’m 6’3 220 lbs and I dive off it all the time while others are sitting on it. I’ve got some more ideas for it that’ll share once I get going on them. Thanks again ??
