Looking at buying my first jet boat. First is 2009 AR230 with about 300 hrs on motors. Great condition for the yr. For $45,000 cdn
The second is a 2013 sx240 low hrs great condition aswell for $54,000 cdn
This will be used in fresh water lakes(choppy sometimes) and rivers. Day riding, pulling a tube, swimming off the back.

Pros/ cons which one ?Screenshot_20211022-214313_Facebook.jpgScreenshot_20211022-214410_Facebook.jpg

both feel overpriced. Is that the going rate in your area? How big a fan of the tower are you? In the US the 2009 goes for about half of the cost of the 2013, something to consider.

Ya a 2007 sx230 with 280hrs are about 43,000 cdn
The tower would be handy for speakers later.

I guess it comes down to how much you want to spend and if that extra foot and few years newer is worth it? I can’t remember if the 2013 240s had the timing chain issues or not. I’m pretty bias to my AR230, I have over 650 hours on the motors and they run very well. Either way a water test is a must for both to see how they do.

Not sure where you are but a 2009 232 limited with around 200 hours on it just sold here in NB for $30000 The sx 240 is closer to market price

Those are absolutely outrageous prices, no way to come to the states to purchase?

Damn that sucks. I like the looks of the 240 better if I had to choose one.

I'd be driving 24 hours each way to look at a boat like this:

Or this:

If you have kids and they will ever want to board, the tower will be optimal....also great for getting things out of the way.

Having owned both a 230 and a 240, I would lean towards the 240...it has a LOT more room, handles wakes/waves better - the downside....it is a touch slower.

The 230s are more reliable and better built , but I'm biased having an Sx230. The MR1s are champ motors.

I'd get the 230 anyways, especially if you like the tower. It's also 10 thousand dollars cheaper.

Those prices seem a bit high, we bought our 2019 SX240 brand new for $54000 at the Detroit boat show.
We love it, we had no need for the tower, so the SX was an easy choice for us.
Good luck in your search for the right boat.
