AR230 RC Boat?!?!?!

Wow, even the seat pattern is from a 2003-2006 AR230 VERY cool!

Ya but how does the bimini AND wakeboard tower work?

Yikes. Read the reviews before buying.

Definitely looks like an AR230 so that is cool but I agree with @buckbuck dont buy it as the reviews are telling it's a POS.

Yea I went to the reviews after I posted. Gonna skip that one. Still need to find the boy a suitable RC boat. Would love for it to have the capacity to motor beers out to me while I'm floating if possible :D :D

Yea an RC beer fetcher would be SWEET! :D

I have the venom barbwire. Very awesome boat. I ended up upgrading the radio in it. This year I bought some new batteries for it and they ended up melting my old barbwire. I called customer service because I just wanted my money back for the batteries I just purchased....... they ended up sending me the newer version of the barbwire and an extra battery. Needless to say i will be buying more from them when the time comes.

@jcyamaharider That thing looks awesome, and only $65 on amazon? What’s the range?

Just make sure you replace the plastic scupper. :)

Really glad to hear some positive feedback. I went back and forth on about 4-5 models in this price range. All had mixed reviews, found this brand on a 3rd party site of "10 best rc boats".

I really wanted to get a Traxxas to match his other RC stuff, but their least expensive boat is like $400.

I actually don't see the boat I have on amazon right now. I have the atomik barbwire 2. The batteries say powered by venom which is why I think this might be the same company? I could be 100% wrong also.

Here is the boat I have:

Boy, after skimming through that video, I sure hope I didn't overbuy for a 7yr old. That looks WAY faster than I thought. Amazon says it'll be here tomorrow, guess we'll find out in the spring!

The one you bought isn't that fast. The one you bought goes half the speed. Still plenty fast

Good, that's a little more his "speed" so to speak.

Bought him a Traxxas Teton for his birthday. I've left it in "beginner" mode, which limits speed and power to 50%, and he still thinks it's the fastest RC ever. Hopefully this will be the same way.

First day on the water with the RC Boat Christmas present. He's been excited for it for about a week now. Little boat performed really well. Got 3 runs in while we were at anchor. The factory USB port recharged the battery in about 90 min or so. I'll need to do some adjustments to the rudder when I get a spare minute. Low speed right turns aren't possible, and left turns are super tight. Not enough trim to correct it so I'll have to make a mechanical adjustments.

Otherwise, it's some pretty solid fun!

Unrelated question: How are you liking that big shot disk? I haven't gotten to try mine yet.

So far so good. Haven't ridden it behind the boat yet, but the boys liked it. Momma and baby sat on it for awhile. The kids were jumping from boat to disk and "surfing" it out into the water, got as far as the 20ft dock line would let them, then do a "dive_ off it. There is another thread around here from when we bought it. Once I get some more time to play with it I'll throw a full review out.
