Anyone have any luck pairing an iPad via Bluetooth with the Connext system? I tried two different iPads, restarted and reset everything. Starting the think this may be a compatibility issue rather than a specific problem I’m having. I always assumed Bluetooth was pretty much universal, so I’m at a loss. And it’s not an old iPad either, both that I’ve tried are relatively new.

You're right, it's a universal format - I've had Samsung phones and Tabs, iphones, ipads, old ipods, Raymarine chartplotter, all work with BT connections without issue. The problem is likely enabling pairing mode - you need to set your device and the head unit in pairing mode to get them to "talk" to each other. On my Fusion unit, there is a pairing mode in the manual you need to enable before it works - like a security feature so your neighbour's music doesn't start streaming on your system. Each system is different...check your manual.

See that's the thing. I was in pairing mode for like an hour yesterday trying to get the two devices to see each other. Throughout the frustration I must have unpaired and repaired my cell phone to make sure I wasn't crazy. I've check the manual and stuff as well, and as expected there wasn't much there to go on. I'll connect with my dealer, thanks for your response!

1st day on the boat this year. I can't connect with Bluetooth. Same phone I had last year and it worked fine but this year the Boat isn't pairing to my phone. Phone is scanning and so was my wife's phone and still unable to connect

I was having connection issues all year last year on my AR250. I had the dealer check it a month ago and turns out there is patch the dealer downloaded and it fixed the connection issue as well as the range issues I was having.

@KC-AR240 Yeah it sounds like a pairing encryption issue. Try deleting the connection and re-pairing again. If no joy, try deleting the pair and search again. I had this issue with my phone and truck after my phone did an update and pairing was messed up. Worked fine today on the water.
The update @Gooch mentions might fix it (could be a software glitch) if you can't fix it yourself?

How do I update my connext? this is very frustrating! there is no cellphone I am able to connect ..

Take it to the dealer for an update...but if you're not able to pair, you need to make sure the stereo is in pairing mode. Check the manual for the stereo to clarify how to do this. It usually takes a few steps to prevent accidental pairing.

I don't know where the thread is, but I wonder if this is a similar issue.

Is your phone an iPhone? You may need to disconnect AND "forget this device" on your iPhone, for your tablet to be able to connect

I tried that, disconnected it and clicked forget on both the iPhone and the connect system. When I tried to pair the iPad it can find it.
