So I am at the point of adding some new speakers and amp.

Currently just have head unit and 6 speakers.

I am going with 4 8inch skar and 2 6.6inch skar marine speakers with a 1500watt 6 channel skar marine amp (got good deal on it)

Besides running power straight from battery to the amp with inline fuse. What do I need to run from the head unit to the amp?

Is there a large difference in speaker wire? No fancy lights on the speakers so won't need to run any power to them.

The amp will get a remote wire and rca cable/cables from the head unit.

Thanks I knew RCAs were involved but didn't understand from where to where.

Do they make marine rated RCAs?

Depending on power to speakers, I would upgrade the wiring.

You’ll want tinned copper wire. Picked this up for my build at a reasonable price.

I should've listed this too, it's an amplifier install kit. Comes with just about everything you'll need and it's one of the better priced sets. Has some speaker wire but not enough to do the whole boat. Amazon.com: KnuKonceptz Kolossus 4 Gauge OFC Amplifier Installation Kit - Green: Car Electronics
