Today I made my first mod to the boat. My wife and I like to explore new lakes so we wanted a dedicated GPS. I also wanted to be able to upgrade in the future( fish finder), so I picked the Axiom 7. I had to move the conexx screen and cut the dash trim, but I think it turned out well. I still need to run power for the Axiom and was thinking about piggybacking off the 12V accessory spades.

Yup looks good and same reason I put one in the dash - we explore a lot in potentially harzardous waterways and wanted a good chartplotter to help guide us.

That's what I did since the 12v "cigarette lighter socket" is not used. I recommend installing a 5 amp fuse inline to protect the boat wiring - Amazon has the blade fuse type for a few bucks. The Axiom 7 only uses 18 watts with sonar (1.5 amps at 12v) so it doesn't have a high current draw. I was going to use the socket for an inflater to blow up tubes and floats, but opted to get one for my cordless tool batteries. They work great, inflates and deflates quickly without any hassle from cords.

Looks good, I installed a Garmin Striker Vivid 7SV last week on my SX195. I used power from the courtesy lights as I never use them.
