I went to take my boat out today for the first time since vacation and my new computer that lasted one week isn't working. Why? Plugs are dry. Pretty sure I won't be a boat owner after this.

Never mind. Got an extra set of hands to help. Computer ok. Fuel pump pumping but no fuel to motor

Yeah....give us some more details...and hit the "at help" group if you want more attention. This is what it is for...on the water and trying to get a non running boat running!

Tried to get it going to go out. Will start on starting fluid so I know plugs are good. Thought it was the computer til I got help testing power. Got power to the fuel pump. Unplugged the fuel line and filled the boat with fuel when I turned on the switch. Pulled the plugs and they are dry.

You could try swapping the fuel pumps to verify if that's the issue.

Just to confirm: we have spark, fuel, and air.

If you have spark, fuel and air and it runs on starting fluid perhaps the fuel is bad?

The other motor runs fine. Last time it ran was the time that motor hit 10,750rpms. I can switch fuel pumps but thought since it pumped so much fuel that it would be fine. But it seems to me there is a blockage maybe since the plugs are dry. Stumped

Possibly a blockage in the fuel injectors?

How long does the engine run on starting fluid?

Each engine has a separate filter screen, fuel pump and fuel line. How much fuel did you pump out when you removed the fuel line? Do you need to turn the engine over to reprise the injectors?

Is it possible that the ECU is not opening the injectors?

Our engines are not supposed to reach 10,750 rpm.

Does that engine have a new or aftermarket ECU?

The ecu is new. Engine would run maybe 5-10 secs on starting fluid. A lot of fuel shot out very quickly. I wasn't expecting it to pump like that. As far as injectors I don't know. I was hoping not to have to swap Ecus but I might have to anyway.

I was hoping not to have to swap Ecus but I might have to anyway.

Swapping ECUs or Injectors seems like the next logical step. I would try ECU's first.

Praise Jesus I tried disconnecting the lanyard this morning the negative results but this afternoon it cranked right up. Thanks for all the help. I went to the beach without my ski or boat and it was the flattest day of the year but who cares my boat is fixed

That's great. Congrats. Was it the lanyard switch then?
