Anyone know what the original batteries were in the 2013 242LS were. I have Deka Marine masters in there now. If those are original, I'll go back with that brand.

I think that is dealer specific. Group 24 is the factory size and my dealer put in Deka batteries as well. When it is time for me to change I think I am going to go with the Energizer AGM battery.

Agree with jcyamaharider, brand is different dealer to dealer.

Yup @Papa Yamaha does not deliver boats to the dealers with batteries in them. They do this because they aren't sure how long a boat might sit unused before it sells, and for dealers with lots of inventory, it is much harder to uncover a wrapped boat and run it, or charge a battery than it would be a car at a car dealer. So the prep fee you pay a dealer includes the battery, installation and setup of the boat, and should include testing of the entire boat and its accessories.

Interstate Deep Cycle marine over here.

Thanks all. I'm guessing these are the stock batteries. Had them tested at autozone and they said they were still good. 4 years and still holding 90% charge. Check that off the list for winter projects. Starting over with a new to me boat and doing most of the things I did on the 05 SX230 plus all the things I've read for the up grades on the 13 242LS..... Need to find that money tree soon or a good divorce lawyer. Not really. Thanks again, Papa
