So I currently I have a Hyperlight Broadcast 5'4" and am looking to probably add another board in the off season. I'm still starting out, and have only been able to get ropeless once(more to do with wake i think then control) I'm 6'2" right around the 200lbs mark. By next season I should have 1550lbs of ballast (incl stock ballast) So I should throw a good wake. Know there are a few topics on this, just wanting some opinions with guys my size.

I really like my triple x carbon fiber skim board , and my wife really likes here island surfer squirt

Yea sorry I was just saying I love it lol , the squirt would be the board I recommend for 200-275 pound riders !!

So many choices!!! But so hard to choose, would really hate to spend 500+ on a board and decide I don't like it. Sadly don't have any wakesurfing friends to try some out first lol

I use the IS squirt a lot. It's a great board to carve the wake on.

I'm just thinking that the broadcast is already a skim ish board, would I be better off going with a surf style for something a little different.

The squirt is 5' long, 1" thick, and about 20" wide. I agree with you that it will probably have similar characteristics to the broadcast.

The wife and I love our shred Stixx truckster....but we like surf style boards.

The truckster is a cool board !!!!

We use the liquid force fish 5.6 for a good every can ride board. Both my kids ride it as well as the grown ups (up to 220 lbs).

I started with the Liquid Force Fish 56 and am watching the sales for the Hyperlite Idylwood to go on sale somewhere... The Fish is a great tough board for learning to pop up and some basics but it is heavy. The Hyperlite is supposed to be lighter and due to its tail design, they claim it will hold the sweet spot better and me being a large man I need all the help I can get! Here is a shot of me rope less for the first time this year...

I will tell you that my buddy's Ronix Koal Fish is quite a bit easier to go/stay ropeless on than his Hyperlite Broadcast. I'd say it's also easier than my Liquid Force Fish 5'6". The LF is perfectly serviceable and more "stable", but the Ronix Koal is faster and requires less effort to stay in the sweet spot. Downside is that it seems pretty fragile, whereas the LF and the Hyperlite are "wakeboard" constructed and pretty close to indestructable.

I think im going to pick up an inland surfer tako or a slingshot skim bender over the winter, the lf fish just feels like a barge everytime we put it in or out of the rack etc. i love winter projects so i might even get bored and buy a board blank to build a board this winter just to try it out, good learning experience and if it doesnt work out it can be wall art

The Tako is a great skim style board at a great price. You will not be disappointed. The thing I like about my shred Stixx is it has everything described about the Ronix koal but none of the fragile characteristics that the Ronix has. My Board Is Rock solid for stability as well just like the fish. Best of both worlds!!

Does anyone know if a ronix koal fish will fit in my krypton wake surf rack with 2.25 inch openings. I can't find the width anywhere. I can't decide on a new board. I have a liquid force fish 5'6 now and looking for a better boat. Help.

I have the koal fish 56 and can measure it tomorrow

I picked up a Red Rocket used in Calgary a couple of months ago. It's a board designed for bigger guys.
