I have had these scratches on the gunnel on the outside where the bimini top rides stowed. Evidently the pad slipped and gouged the gelcoat on both sides decently. I repaired with spectrum and was thinking about how to stop it. So ultimately I decided to buy some samples from seadek in white (the buttons) for 2.95 a piece with free shipping. I will put those on the top where the bimini rides and see what happens. With pads as well of course.

SeaDek Hot Buttons are 5 1/2" x 2 3/8" oval pieces of 5mm thick, durable EVA foam. These buttons fit just about anywhere and are great solutions to everyday problems like keeping hatches from slamming and acting as feet on coolers to keep them from sliding on the deck of your boat. Hot buttons come backed with our robust peel-and-stick backing for easy application.

Sanded down and ready for the second application

All fixed it doesn't look awesome but I think it will be good protection. We are heading to skiatook lake for the weekend. So it will be a good test.

We typically just pull 3 miles to the lake. If this doesn't work. Any long trips the bimini will just bee removed and reinstalled at the lake.

Ok seadek only worked one trip. The pads just are not staying in place. Next try is a large noodle and 3 foot Velcro straps. 20170906_134652.jpg
