New boater here - I bought a used Yamaha SX210 as my first boat. The prior owner had busted one of the nylon straps that pulls the Bimini fabric taught in front. I bought a pair of new straps and I am wanting to put them on before taking the boat out. It appears that I have to disconnect part of the Bimini frame (picture attached) in order to slip the loops of the straps on. Is it OK to just unscrew the joint screw? There is no nut that I see on the other side, and I don’t want to mess anything up.

Thanks!

Welcome Aboard! I would assume that the bracket itself is already threaded, no need for a nut. So you should be able to just unscrew it and screw it back together.

Use some threadlocker when you reassemble; you'll probably see some when you remove the screw. A little heat might help with the removal.

The blue threadlocker allowes for future removal. It's available at Walmart automotive section.
