I've decided on the 212 limited s, but I'm not sure which color to pick. My choices are black with gray bottom or white with gray bottom. Which color do you think is best? I think black would show more water spots/dirt, scuff marks, etc. Is there anything I'm not thinking of when making this decision? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

I have a black bottom 242 and like the look. No worry about dirt, mold, bunker rubs or lift marks. I don't fish, so not sure what marine life tends to do/think about seeing black from below.

I would think about how meticulous you are about keeping things looking 'clean'. Go black if you enjoy the work involved in keeping something looking nice, go with the white option if you aren't.

Having an all black hull takes a lot of maintenance to keep it looking nice, water spots show on a black hull really well. I love my all black hull, it looks awesome when it's clean, but takes some work to keep it that way. Just wanted to throw in my opinion having had a all black hull for a few years.

Thanks guys. To me the black looks better, although less maintenance is better . I'm going to look at both in person before I make my decision.

I agree with the black comments that it creates work. I have a blue one and fight water stops all of the time. I use viniger and water mix to break down the spot and then go with a boat wash every time we use it. I have also waxed it seven times to keep the blue looking awesome.

I have a black 242, and would have told you that they really show a lot of water spots, which they do, but after I discovered Hot Sauce, I don't worry about it at all.

I personally like white for it does not show water spots as much nor does it show scratches as much. I have a black band strip on my boat, and shows every water spot and scratch. Takes a bit more to keep it looking good. So my vote would be for the white. That being said, when the black is clean, spot and scratch free, it is just plain sexy looking! Either way, I do not think you can go wrong! Both boats look great!

(Side note: I said I would never own a black vehicle or have black on a boat, for the reasons mentioned above. And guess what, I own a black truck and a boat with a black color band! Go figure!)

Thanks guys. The only thing I can do is go look at both in person, side by side. Since my wife isn't fully convinced on it yet, I'll go with what she likes best. (Probably the white) Either way I can't wait for spring. I'm never trying to rush through winter but this year is a different story. I'm in southern MD if anyone else sees this and is in the area.

Another southern MD Yamaha. The Pax is a blast in the summer. Just put her in for shrink wrap and already wish it were April.

Jon, which model do you have? I've seen a few in the area.

A blue 2015 SX240. We normally hang around Clarke's Landing or the back side of Broomes; if not bar hopping.

Sweet. A buddy of mine keeps his over in Lusby and comes out by tiki bar. I'll be putting in at solomons or forest landing. I'd like to meet up sometime.

Its a toss up for me.....I like the 212X in blue! LOL
