My wife asked my about taking our two boxers with us on the boat some this summer. I'm a little concerned with how the seats will hold up with a 60 lb dog walking around on them. For you guys with larger dogs, do you do anything to protect the vinyl?

I'm in the same "boat" so to say. Just purchased a 2016 sx192 and we have an 80 pound golden. She is getting delivered and splashed on 5/4, so I'd love to hear from the experts on this

We take our two boxers out a couple of times a year without issue. The wife and I have always taken whatever dogs we have out on our boat and have never had any issues.

We take our Chocolate Lab on the boat with us somewhat frequently. However, I do not allow him on the seats.

We take our dogs but they are tiny. I will say, it gets old having to hold them almost the entire trip.

Not to mention the wet dog hair that will consume the boat! lol..I have a Golden also that's very eager and jumped in while I was cleaning it on the trailer the other day. Hoping the vinyl holds up to his claws all summer!

Begs the question....when you have large (80 pounds plus) swimming dogs and they decide to go for a swim, how the heck do you get them back on the boat???

Excellent question! ours usually gets his two front legs up and we can just pull him up at that point onto the swim platform to get everybody wet and smelly. We used to have a Searay Sundancer 270 and were able to get him up no problem. With the swim platform closer to the water on the 190/192s, I suspect it won't be a problem. Maybe an idea for an invention here!

Someone on the other dog boating thread had a great ladder attachment that made is super simple for their dogs to walk out of the water.

How do you handle bathroom breaks for the dogs? Do they learn to go in the water? Small patch of AstroTurf on the swim deck? Or run back to shore all the time?

Ours goes before after and when we beach somewhere.
