Hi Guys,
I just sold the Soundbar I originally posted in this thread and now I am selling the two Tower speakers that came on the 16’ 242X. These are the Polk speakers in tower cans and mounting hardware. I will he picking the 2 best looking speakers I have in the boat and put them in the cans. I am looking for $140 plus shipping. After winter I will be selling the amps and sub that came in the boat as well. Please PM Me if interested.

Is it a powered or unpowered bar? I have a buddy looking for the same thing I put on mine for his boat (Stealth 10 Ultra HD), but he wants the version with the internal amp.

This is a passive sound bar (external amp)

Hi Guys,
I just bought a new sound system for my 2016 242X. I am currently selling the wet sounds sound bar that came with the boat. I have all the original Polk equipment as well but I want to go through to see what speakers are in good shape. I will be listing the sub and both amps too so if anyone is interested in that Please PM me.

The Stealth 10 soundbar is in good condition and sounds great! Please PM Me if your interested. I will take some pictures of it today and post here.
What are you doing about the sound in the bow area? Just wondering.
In my AR240, whenever I have a bunch of younger people in (various ages down to high school friends of my daughters) - they love to congregate there (in the bow). Forcing me to play the stereo a bit louder than I would like, lol, while siting at the helm.
The bow only has two speakers from factory. I considered mounting a soundbar (directed forward) - but would prefer built-in speakers - somewhere there. Or - bigger speakers like the JL770 that would fit with spacers.

@swatski you obviously need @Drift Away solution in the anchor locker. Lol. :D

I keep looking at that! I'm concerned though the speakers will throw the sound back - and I really do not need more sound in the cockpit or swim deck. Must figure something out for the bow. I liked what (I think) @CraigAR did - with speakers in the bow storage bulkheads, but the issue with that is - the kids/youth like the filler cushions there in the bow, so the sound coming out of speakers mounted that low would be muffled...

I may just throw a pair a bigger speakers (properly powered) in the factory location/slots...

It’s funny because that’s the only part of the boat that doesn’t fit the better JL speakers, so already my bow area will be less powerful than the rest of the boat. I’m probablt putting the tower speakers on swivel clamps

I love my sound bar to put music up front.

How are you guys rotating these bars on the water? The mounting I had to use to get mine up won't allow any level of quick adjustment.

On the 242X all you need is an allen wrench to loosen the bolt, unplug the inputs, flip it, and re tighten the bolt.

Ah, so you guys can use the end pivot mounts. On the 190 those are spaced exactly the same as the cross supports on the tower. I had to use an adapter bracket kit to mount mine. Also, my inputs don't unplug at all. They are hard wired into the case.

@DJMattyT what JL speakers are you referring to that wont fit in the bow?

I can confirm the 770 series will fit with spacers. I'm running JL M770s in the bow and they are VERY loud.

I also have M880s on swivel mounts I can point to the bow.

Still looking for ideas on adding even more sound to the bow since i have an extra pair of open channels on my amp that need to be used.

I assume you already added speakers to the helm area?

Really? I was going to put spacers up their to fit the M770's but my JL dealer said it wouldnt create enough clearance to really take advantage of the M series up there, I got MX's for the bow and M series everywhere else. My old boat had M series all around but again he suggested MX up there.

Mine faces forward all the time....love the extra sound at the helm....but I think you'd enjoy it facing the rear too based on your party boat!
I am putting 4 JL tower speakers facing back (maybe on a swivel) so I didn't really think I would need the bar facing backwards ;)

Yep, I have 4 speaker in the Helm, 2 in the Bow, and 2 on the rear swim deck.

That is odd a dealer would tell you that, it is def not true....I actually have all M770s around the boat, all getting 200w rms driven by a pair of M800/8s with all the channels bridged....Wife has told me its loud enough, lol There is a place I bought the spacer in black so it would match. My concern is adding anything besides M series for me might be fruitless since Im seding them so much power and only have 75x2 to available on the open channels.

I think my build thread has all the details and pics of my system, IT POUNDS, 3K watts!! The Jl M770s are WORTH EVERY PENNY, if you can sawp the MX770s you bought for the M770s you will be happy, my bow is loud but the extra open channels I have on my M600/6 need to be put to use.
