Now that's an odd story...not sure how safe I'd feel under those circumstances.
 
At first I thought you were referring to the old site.;)
 
Not exactly what I would call "fixing itself". They released water so the crack isn't as big. The crack is still there though! It ain't fixed!

Hence the quotations. . . . . Had they not intervened it surely would not have corrected itself.
