Went out to the lake and took the boat out of the lot at the marina and when I took the cover off the drivers side curved window was broken.

It was intact but completely shattered. When I touched it the glass fell out

If someone hit it I would think it would have broken and fallen into the boat? Could it be defective glass?

Can u use the boat with the glass missing at least for this weekend?

How far on backorder will a 2019 piece of glass be?IMG_20190628_172718.jpg

I'm sure you could drive it but you would have to make sure every shard of glass was out of window frame and out of boat.

I took the rubber gasket around the window out and spent the last 3 hours cleaning. Should be good. Monday i will find out the price and how backordered it was.

Last night we were going to go on the lake at night for the first time on my birthday. I guess my birthday present is a new window.

There isn’t any curve to that piece right? Is it something you could have a local glass shop cut for you? Not sure how it secures in the frame. If it’s that rubber gasket that holds it in I would think a glass shop could replace it, and I’m sure for far less money.

I'd at least call the dealer and see if its under warranty. Maybe it was twicked at factory. If cover was not damaged don't see how something broke it.

insurance glass coverage maybe it happened towing and your car insurance covers it.

It looks like your bimini mount is screwed to the top of the window frame. Its actually fairly common for the mounting screws to protrude too far into the widow frame and a little extra pressure will cause them to contact the edge of the glass and shatter it. That is tempered glass and while it is ridiculously hard to break from a straight hit, its also crazy easy to break from the edge.

Look at the rubber gasket closely, you nay be able to see a mark or hole where something was able to contact the window edge.
You would definitely want it fixed before you replace the glass if that is the case. I would think it would maybe be under warranty if so. Even if it's not under warranty, I've replaced larger pieces of tempered glass than that for less than 50 bucks.
