What do you do with something like that? You just cut the line and let it go?

But can you keep them? I have no idea since I have never fished in the Ocean.

About 6 miles out in gulf above an old wreck about 80ft deep water

Lol don't know but ..wasn't bringing a 300lb live shark on board the Yamaha , especially with the kids aboard ...

Hahahahhahahahahah. WHY NOT?
Coulda taken a selfie! ?

Omg glad you have common sense. That’d be a absolute sh!t show.

Hahahahahaha

Keep a wide array of tools kit on board , especially when in ocean , fishing or off shore in general ! .. thanks

Now that's ballast!

I know that some folks fish for sharks. Were you fishing for sharks or something else?

How long were you fighting this fish?

Nice ! .. if you have the added rod holders / cupholders it makes it doable on these boats ... I have personally made a custom fishing rod rack inside the battery compartment .. it works out nicely with 2 piece and boat rods max 6 ft ... unfortunate it doesnt appear this is doable on newer models as i have done as the compartments are smaller and closed off .

I have added 6 rod holders. Two next to anchor locker, 2 on the “gunnels” right next ti the crossing into the back of the boat and two (cup holder and rod holder combo) in the Swim platform. I even have a Engel cooler I use for live bait

Can’t wait for winter to slay the Spanish mackerel down here

That is awesome !! .... i try to keep the guts and fish and bait all on the swim platform as my wife would complain of fish and guts stinking and messing up the boat ... i do this with a five gallon home depot pail with vented lid bungie corded to the swim platform grab handle .. i do all cutting and baiting on the platform 5 gallon pail enough for frozen bait and knife and and live bait if needed ... i also have custom home made 6 gallon fresh water hose down system i built in .. so i hose down the boat on the water when it gets messy ..

BTW the wife snapped these pics ... needless to say she was impressed with me

Most of us do! But I don't have bolt cutters.... any shark I catch is going to be trailing some line! LOL No way I'm getting that close to anything that big with my hands.....sorry shark huggers....just ain't happening!

But this is the biggest shark I've caught lately! LOL:
