I'm sure you Northern guys won't feel for us down here but the windy pattern is getting old. Anybody else down here feel the frustration?

14 MPH?? LOL! That's an average day up here... ;-)

Yes, I would like it to slow up. But up at mile marker 54 were we play on lake travis is not all that bad.

north texas is not any better either.

On the positive side though, I think that is practice for Bimini.

I feel sorry for you then! 14 ave with gust up to 20mph make for a rough day on Travis.

I might have to consider launching farther up this weekend.

Hate it. Constantly 20-30 mph lately and all this damn rain on the weekends. Errrrrrrr

That is rough, especially if you are launching/retrieving. Add a little current and it can be pretty intimidating, I don't care how experienced you are, when you start getting pushed around - our engines are no match for the power of the wind.

Spring time in Northern Arizona is windy, right now we have 24 Mph winds blowing.

It's just something to get used to till early June. Once the temps get higher at the end of spring the winds die down at the time you really WANT the breeze. The wind is no picnic in the Yamaha, but the big boat is no pleasure in the wind either. The damn thing becomes a sail and I'm no sailor!

Yep. Incidentally, the majority of houseboat accidents are due to wind action. It is easy to forget, but those big boats are pushed around like toys by the wind.

And I can say that Thrust Vectors are little to no help in hi winds. We launch/retrieve and you have to play the wind like a golf shot. Start way left/right and hope you are close once you get to the trailer and toggle the engines independently to straighten her out.
