Hey everyone;

I'm new to the site and to jet boats. Just purchased a chap with the Medallion touxh screen. I activated the SIM card but I'm not seeing a moving map with water depth. Does this unit have the capability, if so, what else do I need to do to make it display correctly?

Welcome Bryan. Happy to see another VRX owner on the site. Would love to see some pics of that boat. I am still waiting for mine (very impatiently). Hopefully we can get a few more of us on here and the Chap community can grow the knowledge base like the Yamaha owners have. I am very impressed with what I have seen from the site so far.
As for your question, I believe there was another string that may assist you. Not sure if it is exactly what you are asking, but could start your troubleshooting. I'd love to offer more, but still don't have my boat.

I think this link will help, may need to just delete all on the card and start over. You'll need to pull out the card yourself when you get yours and download the data and reinstall. It was pretty easy to do but I had to get on my back and feel around for the card slot. Launched it for the first time in gulf waters Sunday and got rained out so hoping to have more time this coming weekend enjoying the new toy. Hit a patch of weeds in the channel and the intakes got completely clogged but the boat still made 26 knots. Stopped and hopped in the water and was able to extract the debris using my feet as we were in 8' of water. Will see how things go this weekend.

I do love the looks of these boats! I may upgrade to one at some point just watching and learning to see what everyone says about them. Glad you are enjoying it.

Hi Bryan. I have this system and yes it shows the water depth contour lines. Zoom in a bit they show up. I did do the delete and update from navionics site to get the lakes that I plan on going to. The SD card is protected by a little rubber piece.

Thank you, I will have to pull it again, delete and download new. Appreciate the help.

@Bryan mazanec We don't have the luxury of a clear out hatch like the Yamaha's, so I am planning on getting good with the reverse kill maneuver I learned from this forum to extract anything that may get into the intake. I expect it to be minimal, but want to be prepared when it happens. By the way, beautiful boat. I went with the same color set up.

Yeah, I read about that so hoping I can also get that down. Good thing is that the boat will still motor on with the clogs so safety isn't a concern. Love the color and smart man, the lime green was a bit too bright for me eyes.

@Bryan mazanec @Tlewellyn Did you put the registration # on yet? Name? Would love to see where and what you did. Starting my planning now and I've seen some great ideas around this site but not yet locked down on something.

Not yet, less than a week old, waiting for the documents so I can register it. Also name is pending but can't put it on the back due to color scheme so not sure where I'll put the name.

I'll post a pic tonight. No name yet still trying to have one that the family agrees on.

same problem with my boat can't connect true Bluetooth with my phone, sxm radio option non functional, the whole screen is freezing up you need to restart the boat with a key to work.

Warning : keep the tow rope away from your boat, it will suck up and you'll basically done ( do not attempt reverse trick you will damage more) , ask me how i know, so no clean out plugs is a problem, and i think chapparel is misleading people with they're advertisement that no plugs no issue , i think its a down side

From Chapparal Website

(B) DRIVE SHAFT SLEEVE
Helps prevent the problem of debris, tow ropes and weeds becoming entangled with the drive shaft. Rivals can only try to fix the problem after it occurs.

200's and just the standard bow and rear cover but keeping it at a high and dry.

Did you get ASP platform ?
mine is on a trailer, don't want exposed parts to fade out from the sun, so i just ordered $700+ from boatcoversdirect.com and need to find a shop to modify to fit because of the tower

No platform, I'm using it to run out to small islands and cruise around in the gulf.
