Hi everyone, i am just curious if the Chaparral boats have problems with delamination and touch response issues like on other boats? If so- what years, and models are affected? Here is a photo.

The same issue started to occur my on 2016 Chaparral Vortex VRX 223 earlier in 2023.

Hi Brainfuzz,

can I ask you did you remove the medallion unit? I have the same issue and I am looking for guidance on how to remove the unit.

I have exactly the same problem on my 2016 Chapparal VR. Having done some work on the net it would appear that this screen problem is common on quite a few different brands, presumably as they come from the same source. I see the question from MTC screens. I have been on their site and chatted with them and it seems they have various cheaper solutions than asking your dealer to replace with an oem original.
In terms of removing the screen i spent some time under the dashboard today and it looks as if it requires taking off either 4 or 8 bolts from behind the screen. See the attached picture...excuse the out of focus.. but at the top right where the yellow wire ends you can see two of the bolts.. the same ones are on each corner of the rear of the screen. Access if very difficult.
Has anyone done this and used MTC screens to repair the screen?
