Hi- new to this site and thanks in advance for any help.

2017 Chaparral 203 vortexsingle engine. 160 hours- put in the water- used a few times- ran great.
went to take her out yesterday and she’s dead on the lift. Battery is fine . Dash displayed “reverse module error”. We lookedat fuses under the dashboard- seems ok- we reset the switch near battery . No help- any suggestions? We have her scheduled next week for service but 90 mile drive. We also replayed 2relay switches .
thanks again. Just want to add that she wouldnt start at all and not the “limp” mode

Welcome and sorry to hear about the trouble you are having.
  1. On your display, do you have Settings? If so, toggle until you see e-reverse module override. If so, see if you can override it to start your engine(s)
  2. Also, check your kill switch and make sure lanyard is attached properly.
  3. Check your relays (30A relay) (on Scarab in fuse box. On Chaparral I think there is a black square module near fuse panel) and make sure its clicking on and off or doesn't need to be reset.
  4. Check the linkage and make sure the bucket moves freely without linkage attached. If the cable does not move in and out with your shifter, might be your INR actuator module.
Hope this helps. Also here is another thread where you will find a similar discussion: https://jetboaters.net/threads/reverse-module-failure-need-replacement.24093/page-1

Side note: I am currently having the same issue with my 2019 Scarab 255 Open ID. I am thinking my INR motor is shot. Not a newb to mechanics so probably going to replace it myself.

UPDATE: IBR /INR motor changed successfully. Took approximately 1.5 hours. Would take about an hour with the right tools and given what I know now. If you are mechanically inclined, definitely nothing to fear. That all being said, it wasn't the problem at all ?!!

I came to find out a relay that sticks intermittently can send one on a "wild goose chase". To everyone definitely check your lanyards, battery charge, AND RELAYS first!! Will save a ton of time and money.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like any tips if you do in fact end up needing to replace your IBR... The motor change out was easy.

When you say the relays click how do you know? I don’t see switches on them. Also I found the right relays from previous posts but got one at the auto part store. Any chance the type of relay may be different even if it fits? Where can you find where all of these random fuses, relays are as I also heard some are behind the port side seat as well.
