Has is ever been discussed on here to add a live "chat room" to the home page? Some of the other forums I'm a member of have it and its a pretty cool feature. Just wondering if its ever been brought up on here?

I am a fan of it and it has been discussed. The majority of people are not interested in it the last time it was discussed. You should try our Facebook page for more chat like feeling.

yeah I'm on there too, but the forum is easier for me to use at work w/o being too obvious. lol

On the tundra forum they have a "tundra live" thread which is just a running ANYTHING thread that is always on top of the recent posts. It works like a chat room I guess but they do not have the tagging feature so it gets somewhat hard to follow if you don't check it all the time. I would compare it to our @Murf'n'surf show us what you see thread. That is what I tend to use to post useless crap within the community!

I will add chat to our next staff meeting agenda [USERGROUP=3]@Administrative[/USERGROUP] (which I noticed blew by me last night without my noticing!!! GRRRRR)

Oops!

chat can actually be a good tool to keep bad humor, or misguided satire and sarcasm out of info threads. or at least mitigate it.

I was involved in 2 different sites that went to it. Actually Still involved in one, that is nearly a dead site, but a few stalwarts hang out and use it to just to banter each other at work. Its basically become a comedy central roast of ourselves.
