After running hard for 35 minutes- I stopped and turned off engines to prep for wake boarding.

5 minutes later I turned engines on and got high temp warning on port engine.

I immediately shut off. Checked oil, grated and clean outs all good. All fine. Pissers working fine.

Have10 hours on 2019 242x!

No high temp warning now, but l check engine light stays on port engine.

No error code - just says stop port engine - consult dealer!

[USERGROUP=9]@HELP[/USERGROUP] -

How do I clear check engine light?

Is it Ok to run now on it now?

If not ok to run - what advice to limp home on one engine?

We are anchored - for the moment.

Thanks for any help.

Well....waited 90 minutes. Started port side - check engine light went off upon starting! I imagine it was just hot and had to start engine to cycle the check engine light.

I believe that disconnecting the batteries will clear that CEL.

Glad you are back under way.

You never really want to run it "hard" and then turn the engines off. It's better to give the engine a chance to cool down first (like being in a no wake zone). This give them a chance to get back to running at normal temps prior to shut down.

Thank you for responses. After it cooled we had a great day out on the water. No problems.

I have had an over temp warning more times than I care to remember. That warning takes a long time to go away....either driving a good distance or several start/stop cycles. After you determine the cause, just make sure you see water from the pilot holes and you're all good.
