Please follow these guidelines when posting in the Classifieds Forum:
  1. Chose a prefix that matches your item for sale
  2. For Boats, please list: The STATE (the 2 Letter code or full name), YEAR, MAKE and MODEL in the title.
  3. When your item sells, please edit your post to CHANGE the Prefix to SOLD, (to edit the title click on "Thread Tools" at the upper right of the first post in the thread, then click on Edit Thread and change the prefix to "Sold"...last choice at the bottom of the list. If you can't edit the thread, please reply to your ad "sold" and tag the [USERGROUP=3]@Administrative[/USERGROUP] team.
  4. Please do not double post your items for sale (IE post in Classifieds only and not another post in the general section)
  5. Bumping is allowed, but please only "Bump" your post once per week
  6. DEALERS/Non-Private sellers may post here, but your Advertisement or your Signature must include that you are a dealer, your dealers Name, address and phone number. We reserve the right to limit the number of posts that dealers submit.
Thank you!

Good work! These guidelines should keep our classified section neat and clean and benefit our sellers.

Hey Guys, [USERGROUP=4]@Moderating[/USERGROUP] [USERGROUP=3]@Administrative[/USERGROUP]

Thanks for being so organized.

I usually don't start at the home page, I just go to New Posts or Recent Posts. So I don't see all of the different forum categories that we have here. I was amazed when I saw...

Yes, I know.....I live in my own little world....it won't be the last time I hear that.

So just now I put myself in the shoes of someone looking for answers....

Entered at the home page, looked around. I realized that I haven't been in search to answers about the boat in a long time. Now I know how the Maytag repairman must have felt.

Anyway, the store of information is building very nicely. More importantly, you guys are all up to speed with all the changes, tips and tricks.

It's all very well laid out and the prefixes do help identify the category quickly. Will the list expand to encompass more sub-categories ?

@Julian discovered and is spearheading the prefixing of threads. I believe that his plan is to expand into other forums once we see how it works with Classifieds.

Yes, if there are more categories needed, happy to expand them. I kept is limited to start as I only ran into those types I added in the first 3 pages of classifieds.

The one "Bargains" post did have me scratching my head. Was there another category we need now?

If we end up expanding this to other forums, we want to keep the groupings to large groups, not small ones. So we might want to think about the "Bargains" category and consider if there would be more posted, or will it always just be one thread. If we only have the one, we might want to consider a more generic name that would apply across multiple forums, like "Misc" or "Non-Specific" or something like that. That way the Name and Color tag would be re-used across multiple forums.

Lets see how this experiment in Classified Prefixes works out....and we'll expand elsewhere if members like it.

@Julian I just posted my dad's boat for sale. BOAT was not a selectable prefix but I had to choose one, so I went with BOAT STUFF. Any chance you can fix that when you get a sec? Thanks!

7 minutes and the problem is fixed, without even taking the site down!

Thanks @Julian you sir are The Man!

@Julian [USERGROUP=4]@Moderating[/USERGROUP] Is it acceptable for dealers to post pre-owned jet boats or crazy clearance deals here?

We need to set some standards to be able to post on the classifieds. Maybe something like "If you have less than 25 posts, your thread will have to be approved by a moderator, or admin".

This will keep scammers from coming on here just to sell.

Maybe even have authorized forum vendors.

LOL @bronze_10 just doing my job man. I've seen scammers come and go over the years on forums. This cat just looked suspicious from the beginning.

Agreed.... totally! The way he burst on the scene.. it's all a scam... in my line of work I see it a lot... u can pay your money but u will never see a light!! Now he is pissed that it won't work... lol

There are 12 pages of links to the same BS he's posted on other sites. The admins there were quick to shut him down and delete his crap. It's the only way to deal with spammers and trolls.

He can be reached at 951 415-3635 or 951 278-0008 he also goes by "Smasher1113"

I agree with this. I know the admins here are busy. I would be happy to take the classified duties if @Julian or @Bruce would like me to lend a hand.

A bunch of people need to sign his numbers up for "Cat Facts."
