Clean out plug kinda fix

to make a long story short. I ended up cutting the rubber seal off one of my clean out plugs to get it to go back in place. I want to run it for the weekend before replacing or getting a kit to fix it . I took the boat out and a little water ran out of that side but the boat ran fine rpms on both engines were matched. Can I do that? I only ran it for a minute but I’m wondering what would it hurt to really run it as long as the plug stays in even leaking a little. Advice? Am I gonna ruin something?

if it leaks too much it can cost you an engine

replace the seals .. they dont cost much ... then best investment is the locking dogs ...

Agreed with all above. Once you get the new ones, try lubricating the seal when installing. I just pour water on mine and they slip right in. I keep a bottle of water in the backseat cup holder for that reason. Others use various lubes.
