I recently purchased a 2017 SX195 and it needs a lot of cleaning up. I got some stuff for the vinyl parts, but all of the aluminum bits (steering wheel, handholds) look slightly pitted or like they have permanent water drops on them. Is this just damage to whatever coating they put on aluminum parts to keep them from corroding, or something I can clean up and make look like new again?

TIA!

Post some photos for better advice, but a good place to start is with some metal polish that is safe for all metal surfaces. You probably will be able to accomplish a lot with just the polish and a microfiber pad by hand, but you may need a Buff Ball (sponge like ball that attaches to a power drill) for problem areas. You can buy these items on line or at your local auto parts store for under $50. These are the same things people use to polish unpainted/no-clear coat auto wheels and chrome parts. After you are satisfied, wax the metal to protect it.

Thanks guys! My main concern is making sure I don't damage the aluminum any further. I think I have some Brasso laying around somewhere.

Also, I'll post photos later.
