Clogged "pee" holes?

As I get my boat ready for the season, I'm reminded of an old trick I learned from a fellow jetboater. Its been so long I can't remember who, so I guess I'll take the credit

If you have problems with insects (wasps, daubers, etc) clogging up the pee holes, try this:

When you store your boat, plug the holes with golf tees!
They are cheap and available everywhere. And if you forget to take them out, no worries, they pop right out when the engine starts pumping water.

Missing out on all these money-making ideas is why I don't [yet] have that boat in my sig...

Good idea. Although I haven't run into a problem with wasps or dirt daubers, I went ahead and plugged mine this winter with the foam ear plugs you use at the shooting range. However, unlike yours, mine will not pop out if I forget to take them out and I sure couldn't turn a profit, haha.

Word of caution here. I was doing this on my boat and one year the wooden golf tee “head” rotted or something and somehow broke off. Luckily I was able to pull out the broken piece but that could’ve ended up to be a real pain in the ass. I haven’t used tees since and I did have some stupid animal shove a bunch off grass or something in another year but I was able to fish that out with line trimmer string.

These plastic wire nuts have been working lately for me, I just remove them along with my electric when I'm getting ready to trailer. The red sticks out as a reminder.

Well if my pump locks up because of a golf tee at least now I know who to hunt down lol
