cough, cough BULLSHIT, cough, cough

That they felt the need to produce such a video indicates the bite out of stern drive sales the jet drives have taken.

I'd like to see a completely unbiased review - but I won't hold my breath.

A bias mercruiser commercial is what that was. They sure did make a big deal out of the few minor negatives for jets like noise and lack of trim. I know most of you jet boat pros can turn circles around stern drivers. None of the positives were mentioned. I'll stick with a jet when I'm ready to jump.

Also didn't mention all the extra room you have inside the boat or that the swim deck is integrated on a Yamaha not a bolt on. I have seen had they break up so easy. It was years ago but I think the costs are still lower for the Yamaha.

that was awful.... granted Jetboats aren't for everyone...Like that pilot for example, .....missing the trailer that bad takes practice....that was awesome !! docking it, even gooder !!!

I like to remind my kids, If you can drive the jetboat, you can drive anything.......except that pilot for example

thanks for the afternoons entertainment @farrelltravis

I couldn't stomach to watch all 9 minutes of it. That guy loading the boat on the trailer looked like me the second time I ever loaded a boat EVER.

My 14 yr old daughter loaded our boat last night with a 10mph crosswind first try, dead on,

They neglected to mention a couple additional advantages of a stern drive such as the surgical precision at which a prop can remove a hand or foot should you no longer need it. Also the beautiful sun tan you can get lounging on the bolt on swim platform while waiting for Sea Tow when your ONLY engine or out drive quits. Then there are the minor advantages of winterizing the engine AND the out drive, replacing a bent prop and last but not least, replacing the cooling impeller for the out drive. Ahhh, the good OLD days.

...and the auto-submerged-object-locator, aka skeg

I didn't think you were supposed to run an I/o trimmed up like that. I'd take the jet over I/o any day.

ROTFLMAO. Biased alot? I did not like that I could not fast forward through the propaganda to the end!

I thought it was weird that you couldn't go back or fast forward too.

Watching that guy at the dock and trailer reminded me of those lame ass commercials with people fumbling around at simple tasks. Dealt with used car salesmen that sounded alot like that. Thanks for the laugh.

I love how the commentator felt the need to give the good ol stern drive a little dap to show that he loves it so much!!! Cheese ball!!

Ever see anybody score a long gouge into the ramp asphalt with a jet drive?

How about a stern drive?

That video is laughable.

Reminds me of something I once heard cowboy lawyer Gerry Spence say on CNN.

"(Paraphrasing here) There are three approaches to cross examination:
  1. If the facts are with you, argue the facts
  2. If the intangibles are with you, lean on the intangibles
  3. If neither are with you, impugn the integrity of your opponent."

No trim on a jetboat is like no clutch pedal on an automatic car..... It's not needed.

From a "sales" perspective, COBALT actually nailed it.

It is an impressive piece. Many of us see flaws in some/all of it, and many even disagree with it.

However, from a MARKETING perspective, it is genius.

And it also shows they know that Yamaha, and now Chaparral, is taking business from them.

My personal 2 cents worth, not that anyone cares.

Best Wishes, Mikey Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA - The last Great Place !

"NEVER, EVER ! let Facts git in the way of a GOOD STORY !"

It's a good thing I boat in water from 30-120' deep. Whew!!!

Funny how sucking up weeds is an issue, but running you prop aground was not an issue.
