Cobra Jet AK installed

I put the CobraJetSteering AK 19 on a few weeks ago to hopefully help with low speed handling and to help with control when trolling. It is a definite improvement and I would recommend for anyone that wants to improve low speed handling or that trolls in the ocean. One item I have found is that one of the screws in the adjustment holes fell out after our second trip out, so I retightened all the screws and added more lock tite. I also changed the adjustment from the second hole from the bottom to the bottom hole, so the fins are the furthest down they can be now...I will see if this is a noticeable change/improvement or if it’s not as good the next time I get to take it out.

Let me how that works out. I have mine set in the middle and thought I'd drop them down deeper the next time I pull it from the water.

Does it track straight at low speed without holding the wheel? My 210 will do a circle if you don't manage the wheel.

@Dixemon Mine tracks pretty straight now while hand is off. But..... Waves will push you of course. Mine are on the lowest setting. I Have the CJS AK Magnum Deluxe AK19.

It is much much better with the AK 19s installed. I would say it tracks much closer to how my old bay boat with an outboard tracked when trolling for Spanish Mackerel.

I would think the TVs would work well too. I went with the Cobra Jet AKs because they are always down and I think give a little better at speed. I got pushed into a channel marker once at about 20 mph due to a big wake and a strong tide pushing my boat right into it, so I wanted better control at low and higher speed.

Thanks Jeff, that’s what I did, maybe it was a defective nylock nut? I used a stainless bolt I had and double nutted it as a replacement.

The nut is a common stainless 6mm nylock

Here is a thread where I place pictures and information about the various steering systems I offer. this was started a couple years ago and I try to keep it up to date. This year I have been so busy that I have not been able to pay a lot of attention to his progress or lack there of with it also I have been getting accustom to people calling or emailing me with questions about what would work best on their particular boat. I basically make steering that covers all the voids and allows you to make choices of functions and the level of features , some are special systems some are deluxe versions so do your research and if someone tells you something that you don't think is accurate feel free to ask me or visit the thread posted above.

Cobras. Are the best in my opinion. Had one on my 190 and installed them on my new new 210

With the amount of IT people on this forum, maybe you should barter for some web work. Just saying as I was one of those confused people that had to email you to figure out what I needed. BTW, still super happy with your help and my cobra steered boat!
