I picked up the K&N Filter with the adapter to remove the stock intake box. Where did you guys mount / secure the K&N filter too?
 
Which K&N filter did you get? I am interested in this also.

Not sure. My boat is runing stock filters.

It’s a K&N, I just looked at my thread AR195 Mods where I attached the original link and the product link was no longer valid.
 
Done :) Going to find some way to secure it better though.

Are you guys noticing any performance improvement with the K&N filter? Have you also removed your "back fire preventer"? Anyone tried putting the filter directly on the throttlebody, putting a small filter check valve on the crank vent and getting rid of the intake tube completely?
 
jET_jAK, Why not remove the ribbon? I just did it today on my 2019 AR190 and it was a super simple process. All you really need is a flat head screw driver and a 12mm ratchet.

I have done the Ribbon delete "Spark Arrestor", Cold Air Intake and the engine breather filter. You definitely notice that the boat has more throttle response and you can hear the boost blow off more. Since these boats are supercharged you can't attach a filter directly to the throttle body as the air flows though the supercharger through the intercooler and then through the throttle body into the engine.
 
I have the none supercharged AR190. I doubt it will make much of a difference, but I may see about putting the filter directly on the throttlebody. And either directly venting the crankcase to the engine bay or running it through a vented catch can. I doubt the crank case see's much pressure to worry about alot of oil vapor.
 
I wanted to do the ribbon delete but on the supercharged engines it is a huge hassle and seems to be little benefit from what I have heard. The non supercharged engines seem to gain more and are also easier to do.
 
I know with my F150, the cold air intake didn't bring as big an improvement when it was buried in the engine compartment - running the hose to the sidewall made a more noticeable difference, and also negated the need for the K&N filter. I dunno if there's any way to run this same type of setup on these boats, but I'm thinking an adventurous sort could do a similar mod on the panel behind the rear swim deck seats. Here's the best layout I've ever seen of the mod, but if you wanna see a few other folks that have documented it, do a web search for Gott's mod.
 
Drewkaree, that brings up another question. Where do our boats draw their air from? What is the path it has to travel to make it to the engine compartment and what we can do to improve it.
