Is it possible that a connecting rod nut would back off on its own and cause a spun bearing and the crankshaft to burn a little ? Or does a spun bearing cause the nut to back off?
I found out that the knock was a spun bearing in this thread
I wanted to post a specific question to see if anyone had this happen.
I would assume that a spun bearing would not normally cause the nut to back off. Yes, a spun bearing will result in more space and therefore the knock, but would the knock back off a properly torqued nut?
