How do these connectors work? I’m trying to use the Aux button on my helm panel to activate my air inflator.

All the connections at the helm, and everywhere else, on my ‘19 boat seem to use these connectors.

I don’t see any pins inside or anything to crimp. Can anyone offer guidance of how I attach my Red and Black wires to it?

They are called Deutsch Connectors. That one, based on the stamp, is part number DT04-2P, which I think means it's a two pin plug. There are pins inside which need to crimped to the wires for your inflator, and unfortunately it takes a special tool to properly do so. Like a couple hundred dollars. The connectors themselves are cheap.

When I needed to get a socket to mate to it for an external ballast pump controller, I ordered it online from Batts Racing: www.deutschconnector.com They make them up for about $30 with a choice of gauge, length and color of wire, which you can then simply connect to your device. I believe the socket which mates to the plug in your picture is part number DTP06-2S, but you should check to be sure.

Unless you're going to be making up a bunch of these things, it's probably not worth investing in the tool.

Or it might be easier to just add your own switch! @BigAbe75 I assume you were going to use a relay and not run the air inflator power through that wire? If not, you may well overload that.
 
Correct. I have a relay and a standard toggle switch complete with a “fan” image sitting on the bench. I just thought if I could use the existing switch I would.

I’ll go back to the original plan, except now I have to figure out where to put it. I was struggling with that. Would be nice to have it somewhere near the stern, as in installing the inflator output next to the swimdeck speaker.

Yeah, the other half of the connector is attached to the helm. I just disconnected this side. Was nice of them to include the spare side so you just have to add wires.
 
Why not put the switch up top inside the rear storage behind the seats?
Like inside the door on the engine side? I thought about that. Can I cut the hole there? I guess I’d have to fish the wires through the insulation in the engine compartment.

I also thought about mounting the switch on a bracket so I just screw the bracket to the side of the engine compartment instead of a big hole. But I don’t want it to stick out and be in the way of getting stuff in/out of the compartment.

Might need to stare at it a bit more tonight. lol
 
Hmm, that would work. I wasn’t thinking about reaching in that far. Need to double check that won’t be a pain in the rear to reach that far to the switch.

Also, might need to think about stuff bouncing around and flipping switch accidentally. Not an issue normally, but I guess could be if on Lake Michigan or larger water.
