This is nuts. I work for MDOT and things are crazy here this morning. This is going to be a huge challenge going forward. I still can’t believe it. I drove across it yesterday and now it’s nothing. ?

Wow. Hopefully they rescue everybody. Just read they're looking for 7 people in the water.

There were crews working overnight doing a redecking operation as well. I’m shocked that hasn't been mentioned in any of the news stories. I’m really concerned about those folks as well. Feeling gutted for those directly affected. We can deal with the traffic but the current rescue operations are the biggest concern.

Holy crap!

I lived in Glen Burnie for a couple of years before I retired and my daughter works for the Coast Guard's shipyard in Curtis Bay, and this is gonna have a huge impact on both the vehicular traffic and shipping into Baltimore.

I've never seen video of a bridge collapse like that, it is surreal.

Prayers go out to the victim's families.

I just read an update that their were 2 pilots on board and that they are reporting the ship lost power and control just prior to hitting the bridge.

The first video I saw this morning it looks like the ship lost power, got the power back (black smoke pouring out the stack as I presume they put it in reverse), and then lost power again and hit the pier.

Blackshoe threw the wrong switch, twice.
