I have a 2014 AR 192 and my water flow out the side is slower this year on the engin water discharge. When I run over 4000 rpm my boat engin cooling alarm goes off. Do we have a thermostat on these boats?

Yes there are thermostats.... have you checked the intake screen in the jet pump for debris? How is the water flow out the pilot hole when it is on the hose?

Jet screen? We’re is that, flow in the water is slow on engin but supercharger is good, on the hose is a lot better

I looked up the intake screen and located it and it was clean.

You should remove tge scree block and check it to make sure there isn’t something you cannot see From looking up the jet drive. The pilot flow, as I understand it does not flow through the thermostat. The fact it flows better on the hose indicates the flow is restricted from the jet pump.

I just removed the screen and it was completely clean, I didn’t see anything in it at all. I think I am going to try to put it back in the water and see what happens. Do you think I should look at any thing else? Hoes being clogged or take anything else apart? Thank you for your ideas

Are you running the boat in salt water? If so, have you been flushing it with salt away?

How does the impeller and the sleeve look? There was another thread here recently where a guy was having a cooling problem and he discovered that his impeller was dinged up and his sleeve had a good ding in it too. He replaced the impeller and sleeve and his cooling issue went away.

Beyond those things I’d say the next step would be to pull the thermostat, inspect and test it to see if it’s functioning properly. if it was me, I’d probably just replace the thermostat while I had it apart.

Yes I am in salt water and I flush good but for 2 years I have not used salt away, I have just flushed for about 5 minutes every time I take it out of the water. I guess this going to bite me in the back side looks like I will try the thermostat first then move on the the other ones. Thank you

Best of luck!

I saw that salt away has a procedure for removing built up salt... it involves flushing everyday and leaving the salt away in the engine. The fact you flush it each time you use it is really good! I’m hoping you find a corroded / non functioning thermostat and that will be it!
