I've read a ton of great information about covers on here and on the other website, but I guess I'm just looking for advice on my specific situation. I just finally picked up my SX from Minnesota and brought it back to Pittsburgh last week and now I'm in a rush to get it ready for the season. I wet slip my boat from May till October with occasional trips to a few local lakes. I'm not really concerned about a cover for trailering since it will be in a slip most of the time. I'm also not interested in a two piece cover, as that is what I had on my last boat and I wasn't happy with the protection. Basically I have narrowed it down to the Yamaha Deluxe Premium or a full custom Sunbrella cover.

I know the Sunbrella cover will be more expensive and require snaps, but will it be longer lasting and easier to take on and off than the premium cover?

The premium cover will be much cheaper and looks fantastic, but will it only last for a few years and also be a pain to put on every day? I only have access to the front and starboard side of the boat , so will it even be possible to access the ratchet straps? If you know where they are located on the sx240 cover that would be helpful.

I'd appreciate any help and advice anyone can offer. Thanks and I'm looking forward to my first time out in my new boat. It's supposed to close to 80 on Sunday so I may drop her in the Ohio!

Congrats on the new boat. I've used the factory mooring cover while in a slip. While it's not the easiest it can be done. The key is to leave the ratcheting straps just tight enough to get the job done before installing the cover. IMHO it would be impossible to use the ratchets without access to the stern of the boat. You would have to open a corner of the cover, tighten down a ratchet while on the swim platform, and attempt again. Im always careful when I remove the cover prior to launching to leave the ratchets just loose enough to remove the cover, that way I can put it back on while slipped if necessary.
