Hi Everyone,

I am considering getting Deckadence marine flooring for the inside of my new boat which is a 2017 Chaparral Vortex VRX 2430. I really loved the Scarab Smart Mat that I had in my previous boat, for the soft feel on the feet as well as the ease of cleaning and taking it out because it is not fastened down to the floor.

So my question is: How can I go about getting a template of my boat so I can send it to the company when I'm ready to purchase? Let me make it clear... I have neither the time nor the inclination to do the template myself so I was wondering if there are any other options available to me. I know the company does not have a template since the boat is so new.

I am also considering getting seadek, but I am not sure how I feel yet about having this permanently put down on the flooring.

Any helpful hints or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! I was thinking of posting this in the Chaparral specific forum as well but was not sure if you can put post it in both sections at the same time. Thanks again...

Sea-Dek is the way to go.

Maybe @JetBoatPilot has your floor pattern already and all you need to do is order it?

I believe he is working on one for my model boat. Seadek would be good to go. Deckadence would not as they do not sell it. Thanks for the reply! Like I said still weighing all my options.

I think your only options are: 1) do it yourself (which you ruled out), 2) Wait for someone else to do it

Yeah that's kind of what I thought. Guess I was hoping maybe a boat dealer or boat mechanic would potentially be able to do it If I brought the boat to them, but I think I'm reaching for things now.

@Jet16 I think you are getting very good advice with SeaDek.
I personally think the snap in mats are so much less practical, unless your lake and you and your guests are extremely clean and you have space to dry them.

Ask Jetboatpilot if you can purchase the template dimensions.

yeah the idea of removable sea dek is nice at first but things will get stuck underneath, and having to dry is not fun.

stick on sea dek eliminates all that.

I prefer SeaDek. It is so conveinent to install it, use it and hose or pressure wash it off when it needs cleaning. Everyone loves the look and feel.

As for hiring out the measurement I would look for a trim or carpet contractor. Trim guys measure very precisely. Carpet guys often measure then cut the pieces outside the home. Either way you would want them to cut out templates from cardboard or scrap materials to make sure the fit is correct. But much of this is judgement and design. Will does an amazing job with that so if @JetBoatPilot has the product I would go with them.
