Looking for some feedback on Deep Creek Lake, MD. Considering renting for a week's vacation in August.
Pictures look awesome, just trying to get a feel for how busy the lake is, things to do in the area, etc.

Thanks

its been a while but it gets fairly busy during summer. Thats really the only lake in MD that you can boat on unless you to to the bay. most of MD lakes are electric/non-motorized only.

its a narrow lake... so if you encounter a wake board boat...it might get rough

Beautiful Lake and beautiful area, but if you are going for boating stay away from the holidays. The lake can get very crowded.

Headed there in august for the first time. No experience but my neighbor had a house there with a boat and loved it. I will be getting advice from him and will let you know what I hear.

Thanks guys

Just saw your post as I am new to the forum and thought I would post an alternative to Deep creek. Have you thought about Confluence PA or in and around that area. I do a lot camping at the COE camp site in Confluence. There is a big lake there that many boat on. I have never boated on it but have seen plenty of boats on it. Confluence is in the same general as Deep creek and it is the same exit off of the National Highway just in a different direction. I come from just outside of Ocean City Md and find the drive is about six hours pulling my Airstream to either location. Any way you just might want to check it out, The Youghiogheny River Lake is above the campsite and is fairly large and I think it links to other lakes in the area.
