Hi everyone - so I took my inaugural ride on my 2014 212x and it was awesome. My 1st boat since the old LS 2000 I had... Things move slower on the 212x but the stability is incredible. And it's a beast with power!

I noticed when I tried to display the depth meter it toggled over it to the VGA or voltage meter. I never could get a depth finder going.

What am I doing wrong or is there something wrong with my electronics? Thanks!

@thegrapeguy did you toggle all the way through until you hit the screen that says "more" ?? hit both buttons together once and continue to toggle through the rest of the screens.

I did and the rest of the functions don't include depth finder. So then you hit the 2 buttons and it returns to the 1st screen of functions that is supposed to include the depth meter and it skips over it to the voltage meter...

It never lands on the depth meter - It's a 2014 212x - should have a depth meter right?

After calling some Yamaha tech guys at 2 dealers I believe I am a 1st for this problem. They both believe I have some computer problem and not the transducer causing an issue.

However neither one has ever ran into this issue. So of course they said bring it in. My fear is that I will need some expensive computer logic board or something. Thought I might as well get an extended warranty.

My symptoms are:

Tach LCD does not show water depth.
Toggles from fuel gauge right over it to voltage (vdc) meter.
When going deeper into "system menu LCD" which has the things like "set units" and "contrast" - I get to what is supposed to be #5 ("Calibrations", which is the water depth alarm) and it skips over that and "Instrument Diagram" becomes #5. In the manual #6 is supposed to be Inst Diag...
#11 which is supposed to be "Exit" shows up as #10...

So anything to do with water depth is missing...

I was troubleshooting for a long time and I believe even water temperature does not work but I have to double check that.

I'm wondering if the same transducer for depth has a temp gauge on it as well?

At any rate I'm pissed because water depth is the function I use the most when I'm in a boat...
