Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
Sounds like you can go anywhere then. What a deal. lol.
Mine sometimes goes to 40 ft when I am in 3 feet of water or even 0 at times when I am in 40 ft of water. I ignore it and it seems to come back. Also, My speed on the Connext screen often shows 0 MPH for a few minutes if I start throttling up before the screen completely initializes.
@spaz944. Is your sonar head mounted to the bottom stern of your boat? Is it pointing straight down? Is there any debris, seaweed, barnacles on or near the head? Try putting something solid near the head while at anchor to see if anything changes.
I'm just using the stock system. It has always worked before but this last time we went out, everywhere was 14.8 ft which if true I find really hard to believe. lol
