Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
If you flip that chair over and take a look at the mechanism, there is a spring that snaps it back into place as you rotate. You could take that spring out. But it is there for a safety reason when driving.
So no, there is no temp fix. You could take the spring out, and tighten the tension on the rotate, so it would be unlocked all the time, but rotate a bit stiffer to hold it in place while driving.
Good advice. I think our spring is missing after we took it out to put on Seadeck - so it swivels (very stiffly - i keep it tight) without locking. Now I'll check on that spring.
