I'm thinking about purchasing these fenders to keep mounted to the cleats on the finger pier semi- permanently:

I've never used this type but I would think these would be less likely to mark up the boat (especially in black like my hull) than the conventional fenders due to having more movement. Does anyone have any input? I want to keep fenders mounted on the dock that way I don't have to worry about putting up/ down fenders every time I go out.
