Having had two terriers (one Kerry Blue and one Wire Fox) in the past, I know that many dogs don't like certain noises.

I'm curious about how your dogs may have fared on your jet engine boats?

Are there any issues your dogs may have had with engine noise? Maybe at certain rpms? Are there any areas of the boat the dog(s) prefer, or don't like, when under power?

Thanks,

Jim

My airedale terriers had no problem with the engine noise. Anywhere on the cockpit floor was good for them

Beagle pup is fine.

Its not that loud at all. I have never been on an older 4stroke jet boat but i dont find mine loud at all. My wife was sitting in the port bow and i was talking to her without yelling while cruising at 5400 rpms .
Out dogs love going on the boat

Both of our older dogs (Duck Toller Retriever and Manchester Terrier) are not bothered by the noise at all. At high speed they both sit at my feet most of the time to get out of the wind.

My 50-ish lb lab mix usually sits at my feet while underway. I think she wants out of the wind. Second favorite spot is in the bow with the oldest. Assuming the oldest can sit still long enough for her to get settled down.

Had her out with 4 adults and 3 kids over the 4th. She slept on the floor in front of the engine hatch on the way out. Noise definitely isn't an issue for her.

Folks,

Thanks for the replies! :)

Dogs have great hearing, and it's really helpful to know that the jet engine sounds don't bother them.
