dolphin rod holders on 2015 ar210?

I found this info on a previous post by doing a quick search for "dual rod holder". See if this helps:

I was looking at ordering a new surf rack this weekend and when I searched, there were many questions about tube sizes on various towers, but no concise thread with that information.

Here is what I found, feel free to add if anything is missing or incorrect:
  • All E-series boats - 2 3/8 front and rear and 1 5/16" Bimini tube.
  • All year 242 LS and 212X - 2 3/8"
  • 2014 and older AR240, AR230, AR210 and AR190 - 1 7/8"
  • 2015 and newer AR240 - 2 3/8" front, 1 7/8" rear
  • 2016 and newer AR192 and AR195 - 2 3/8" front, 1 7/8" rear
  • Scarab 215 HOI - 2 3/8"

Thanks for the reply, but based on that list I'm still not quiet sure what a 2015 ar210 tower thickness is. I would assume 1 and 7/8 maybe because it looks like its all the same diameter, but I'm a little weary of buying 4 of these and hoping they fit.

I'll also say that my rod holders from samson sport work great too and will fit your tower. A bit more expensive. I left a link at the bottom. I have the dolphin holders and they don't fit and it's too expensive to ship them back. There is another person that has two sets of dolphin holders for sale for the same reason. You could probably get a great price me or others. Just let me know if you're interested.

@MilesPrower just posted this on another thread, which I believe was intended for you @cobolstinks

The 1·7/8'' OD rear tubing of my 2019 AR210 tower actually measures 1.925'' (1·37/40''), due to the factory-applied powdercoat on the tower. Therefore, the 1·7/8'' aluminum shims that came with my Monster Tower Swivel Adapters do not fit onto the tubes. I had to order 2'' shims and then build up the tubing size with a few wraps of heavy-duty self-fusing tape.

Thanks @sunbyrned.

@cobolstinks, if your tower is powder-coated like mine is, then it's probably 1.925'' in diameter. If your tower is bare (or anodyzed) aluminum, then 1·7/8'' is the most probable diameter.

With that said, it's easy to measure your tubing with calipers or two carpenter's squares. But, if all you have is a ruler, then do this:

Take a roll of scotch tape and mark it with a pen near the end of the tape. Wrap the tape one full circle around the tube, so that the tape overlaps the mark. Put a second mark on the tape exactly where it overlaps the first mark. Unwrap the tape from the tube and then stick the tape down on any flat surface. Measure the distance between the two marks on the tape. Divide the measurement by π (3.14). That's the diameter.

Why don't you buy one and if it doesn't fit return it? If it fits, then buy 3 more.

The problem with Dolphin is that there is a 15% restocking charge and you have to pay return shipping, which for me is $18.00. That's why I still have mine.
