Dry deck start wakesurf

Anyone do a “dry start” or deck start off of Yamahas when wake surfing? I know our deck is a little higher than some wake boats but I would assume you could just keep one foot on the nose and then walk out onto the board while going about 10mph and it would work.
 
Seems like it might not be great for the board, depending on what kind you have. Also, getting up in the water is pretty easy once you have the knack for it, so not sure it's worth it.
 
Yes, I've started/stopped surfing directly from the platform on a 2008 212X. Fairly easy after some practice (assuming you're already comfortable surfing). Just be careful with the rope slack when really close to the boat.
