Completely new to boating and to this whole forum thing, rookie all around, but I am trying to learn. I am looking into a few different marinas that do rack storage/drop in service. Does anyone have a marina (that provides this type service) that they would recommend in the OCNJ/Somers Point area?

About those drains plugs....when I am done for the day it is my understanding they immediately pull the boat from the water and put on a rack where I can clean and flush engine. When I am done the clean up, do I put the drain plugs back in so that when the marina drops it back in the water on the next trip its ready to go or do I leave them out and someone at the marina knows to put them in before dropping into the next time.

All Seasons Marina has rack service, pretty reasonably priced too for the shore. You'd definitely want to confirm launch logistics with them, but I'd assume they would check the plug before dropping in.

I use indoor rack storage in NE Maryland, and was told to always put the plug back in before storing for 2 reasons. Your boat will not drop on the boats below, and they will not guarantee that he person putting your boat in the water will check it. So just my 2 cents.

Welcome!

Heck, I hardly trust myself to remember the plug. I have a routine, a checklist, and still wind up then double checking it twice. Quick check that never hurts. Plus, I am the captain--I am responsible for my boat in the end. Myself, I would never assume someone was going to do that for me. I would put the plug in, but also would be making sure to check it before they put it in (or promptly after I got in to make sure nothing is leaking). I have been out once with the kids when a stupid thing like that filled the engine bay... sad way to ruin a very good day on the water.
