I was wanting to do a dual battery setup on my SX190. Does anyone have a write up on this or any info?

Thanks,
B

I’m getting ready to do the same thing. I’ve done it before on other boats. Location I’m not sure yet as I don’t get my boat until Saturday but will update you after I get it and do the battery upgrade this weekend.

I purchased this switch and ACR combo https://www.westmarine.com/buy/blue-sea-systems---add-a-battery-dual-circuit-system--8646275 it works very well. You’ll also need a battery tray for whatever size battery you decide to go with.

I’ve already purchased it, just had them install a bow and cockpit cover. I take delivery on Saturday.

Janesville Wisconsin, I can’t stand waiting for it but can’t get on the water right now anyway.

I would try to mount the second battery in the opposite side compartment for weight balance. It doesn’t take much to cause the boat to list to one side. The kit in the link Scott posted is great as you don’t have to switch the batteries between “1” and “2”. The ACR automatically does all this for you to isolate the starting battery from the house battery.

That is a good idea putting the batteries on separate sides of the boat for weight distribution. I will have to see when I get my boat Saturday how that will work for me.

The ACR is great it allows the separation of the batteries from house and starting but the capability to charge both of them. The switch it comes with does have the capabilities to combine the batteries if your starting battery dies.

Naw...More ballast for surfing!

Can you surf behind your boat? I didn't think it was possible behind the 19".

Let me clarify, More ballast to attempt to surf!

And no, I havent tried behind mine. lol

@skbishop90 I see you have the Lucky 13 adjustable pump cone, does it make a big difference?

I should probably quit stressing the upgrades until I actually use the boat and figure out what I need/want. I have this bad habit of always wanting to improve things.

With mine, I have all spacers in and havent adjusted it since. It did make a somewhat noticeable difference. I wouldnt say it was night and day difference or worth the $300 I spent. But there is a small difference.
