Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
Does anyone know of any companies that will test and repair if necessary the ECM. I am also looking for how to test the ignitor coils. Are there companies that can do this also. Thanks for any input
As for the coils, there are ways to "test" them yourself. If one cylinder is misfiring, dial in on which cylinder, and swap it with another. Or, since you have two engines, swap all 4 coils on one engine with the coils on the other engine, and see if the problem follows the coils, or stays with the engine. Basically, diagnose by swapping coils around until you're able to figure it out by process of elimination.
