the damn screw is way too short and there is no such thing as torque spec apparently at Yamaha... one completely came loose and the other side was on the brink of coming loose... ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️

Same here - I lost 3/4 of them last year. Was a real PITA to get them back on, not the best design.

yeah i put some loctite on there and i'll be checking periodically... i swear my old 2012 was MUCH better in build quality.
 
Their QC still sucks, tragically.

Great boats, all in all, but it shouldn't take a season for new owners to fix all factory misses and proof the darned thing.
If there were JD Power ratings for boats, I wonder how would YJBs score for initial quality, would they need their own category?? lololol.

At least you caught it early - smart! I was not so smart when I took a brand new 240 to Bimini, before blueprinting everything, what a shit show that was, lol.

Same here. Lost two about two months in.
 
I caught mine before they fell out completely. Since then my maintenance includes going over the boat with a screwdriver. The rubber stopper on the windshield has been loose, the glove compartment, hinges, etc.
