Have Scarab 165 1503 standard eng. Have changed oil and filter at 15 hrs. Just my thing on new or rebuilt engine. Service eng light came on at 21 hrs as expected for oil change at dealership. ( 150 miles away to go get screwed ) How can I turn of serv. eng. light. I have built engines before. This engine runs perfect. 7400 rpm 42 mph. All day tank of gas at 30 mph.

There is no way I'm aware of to turn the maintenance light off in Rotax without interfacing with the engine. I use Candoo and works great. - Here is the link: CANDooPro LLC, Diagnostic Tools - If you are 150 miles away to get screwed it should pay for itself.

Unfortunately only the dealer or the Candoo get remove this light. I paid $400 for mine. Used it a lot and it works great.

LOL, wish it was that simple. You mean pixels, right?

liquid paper brush? (just kidding) I wish their architecture was more open, but if you will keep the boat for some time, the CanDoo is totally worth it..and it's ONLY $400 :)

They m. icon doesn't look pixel, may have led behind , lol, could paint behind. A engine timer is a must, and pencil and paper to chart maintenance, my .02 cents. Had a 75 ford truck, maintenance light came on, unplugged. Ford tec said laughing, light, for u to come to the dealership for maintenance. He showed me how to turn off. Sold the truck 175,000 miles later. (eng good cond.) The diagnostic part of the scanner does sound good. TNX for info, great forum.

Our pilot has 170K miles just reached. The bluetooth code reader is $20 bucks, but it has saved me quite a bit of head scratching. Thankfully that thing has been rock solid, so mostly is loose fuel cap code. Agreed there is some ulterior motive to make it "closed source" instead of letting the user interface with the systems already included in the car. It does have a little feel of a racket to it at $400, but that's the "hack" version. I think the BUDS dealer tool costs an arm and a leg.
