Last time I had my boat out the starboard engine shut off.. since then I have checked the lanyard switch the hatch switches replaced both ignition switches and bought yds software...
The yds works great on the the engine that runs.. wont communicate with the engine that doesn't run.. does me no good.. any suggestions?

You are bumping the bad motor over to establish the connection?

Yes .. I was turning the motor over while my son was on the computer

That’s a bummer. Can you describe exactly what it will or won’t do? Is it cranking, but not firing, etc.

No fire ... getting fuel but no ignition

Are you getting the “hum” of the ECM when you turn the ignition on? The hum usually stays on as long as the YDS is hooked up and “connected”. Since it is not reading, seems to indicate an issue with the ECM and you can compare sound with other engine since it will read that one.

Maybe swap ECUs? It sounds like it may have gone bad, but that would be strange.

Mine went bad last year. Wouldn’t get fuel. Swapped to confirm. For something so small that ecm is expensive

Possible blown fuse under the round cap on the ecu?

Have you cleaned the electrical connections and the main engine ground connection ? Often if you open each connector and spray C R C or similar silicon
shopping
into all the connections then put them back together, if any water or moisture is in there this will fix it instantly.

Hi, this was a while ago... Did you get it sorted out?
